Mar to Jun
Mango
The heart of the farm. Table varieties and juice varieties, ripened on the tree and in straw, never with carbide.
Everything on this page comes off our own orchards and beds. No chemical fertiliser, no synthetic pesticide, no carbide ripening. Fruit comes down when the tree lets go.
From the orchard
Nothing is forced early and nothing is held back in cold storage. What is ripe is what we sell, which is why the list changes through the year.
Mar to Jun
The heart of the farm. Table varieties and juice varieties, ripened on the tree and in straw, never with carbide.
Sep to Feb
Thin-skinned and heavy for their size, with deep arils. They travel badly, which is exactly why they are best bought here.
Aug to Feb
Crisp through the cool months, soft and perfumed at the end of the run. Eaten with salt and chilli by everyone who works here.
Aug to Nov
Sitaphal, picked at the point where the segments just begin to separate. A short season and it sells out quickly.
Year round
Fruiting almost all year. Green for curries and thoran, ripe for breakfast on the verandah.
Year round
Grown along the water line. The leaves feed our own kitchen as plates for functions and festival meals.
Year round
Thin-skinned and heavy with juice. Also what goes into the welcome drink waiting for you at the gate.
Year round
Cut and opened in front of you. The best answer to a Telangana afternoon that anyone has yet found.
From the beds
Grown in rotation beside the orchard, mostly for our own kitchen. Whatever is surplus goes home with guests.
Seasonal
Okra, brinjal, tomato, gourds, beans, drumstick and whichever leafy greens the month favours, cut the morning you collect them.
Post-monsoon
Grown, boiled, dried and ground the old way. Deep colour, strong smell, and nothing added to bulk it out.
Limited
From hives kept at the edge of the orchard. Unheated and unfiltered, so it sets in the cool months, which is how you know it is real.
Harvest
Rice and small millets grown in rotation to rest the soil, milled in small batches for the farm kitchen and for guests.
How to buy
We sell at the farm rather than through shops, so what you get is what came off the tree that week.
Drive down and pick up whatever is in season. Email ahead so we can set it aside for you.
Guests take a box home at farm-gate rates. In mango season you can pick your own.
Festival boxes, office gifting and bulk mango orders. Tell us the quantity and the date.
No chemicals, ever
Why it tastes different
Chemically pushed fruit grows fast and hollow. Ours grows slower on compost and green manure, so it holds more sugar and more smell, and it keeps badly, because there is nothing in it to keep it.
Stay a night, walk the orchard at dawn and carry a box home before you leave.
